Our Story

With over 8 million streams on Spotify and releases on You love dance, Armada Music and Enhanced Music, Scot & Millfield have become a staple in the international electronic music scene.  

Their distinctive sound of a mixture of melodic and atmospheric songs with influences from balearic house, trance and chillout is the ideal accompaniment to any sunset.

Impressed and influenced by the then greats of Balearic Trance "York" and "Chicane", german school friends Daniel and Maik founded "Scot & Millfield" in 1999. The two made their first steps together with the legendary "Bass Bumpers" from the neighborhood. Equipped with studio stuff from Caba Kroll, CJ Stone, Voodo & Serano, Level-K (Thomas Gold) they built their first studio not far from the Bass Bumpers homebase in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Over the years they stayed true to the melodic & dreamy Balearic style. After their first release in 2003 on Drop Out / Alphabet City, they both enjoyed a partnership with Uli Poeppelbaum / Spacekid on whose label they have released two albums to this day.

After two successful remixes of "It's a fine day" and "Café del Mar" - on the one hand under collaboration with Jay Frog (Scooter) and on the other hand with Dieter Stemmer (Dance Nation) a childhood dream came true. In 2018 York brought out a new edition of the evergreen "The Awakening" in two versions with Scot & Millfield on Armada.  The duo from Mülheim had the attention of Maykel Piron and Armin van Buuren overnight and enjoys more than 6 million streams on Spotify to date.

The collaboration with York intensified and in 2022 Enhanced Music released two more collaborations that appeared on York's album "Indigo" and were played on radio shows around the world.

Currently, both are planning more releases in collaboration with York and Jay Frog and other internationally successful artists. one thing is for sure: there will always be dreamy and atmospheric melodies in the center of creation.
